An experienced architectural, industrial and location photographer, Eric Oxendorf is presently celebrating his 50th year serving the design, construction and materials professions. His studio is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA yet he travels throughout the planet on assignments for many varied clients. His work has been seen in many editorial, professional and trade magazines and has won award for clients since he left Layton School of Art in 1974. With experience in all types of settings, solving lighting and logistic problems has presented challenges that afford the images to be unusual and unique. As a private pilot, he often flies to locations himself with a complete studio. This ability also makes him an amateur weather forecaster to time the best conditions for the job. Flying to locations also reduces travel expenses for clients. Eric has also photographed several books, including 6 children's books and his own self assignment: Domes of America. Despite his experience, he prides himself on doing a job tight within the clients budget. His assignments have taken him to the 50 states, Asia rim, Europe and all of North America. Quality images are still made with 4X5 film, yet he has the capability of producing high resolution digital images.
As a visual interpreter of the clients product or project, getting the full feedback from them about their problems and creative solutions is key. In addition, knowing the subject matter and recording it in its best light is also essential. Patience is a large factor in getting the subject to look its best. Combine this with the right lighting or atmospheric conditions, the images should be optimal for client use. The subject is 'corrected' on location as much as possible, as I was taught in art school 30 years ago. After that, the film, scans or digital capture can be retouched or enhanced as needed.
With over 30,000 images in our files, we offer stock photography for magazines, books, clients or agencies. These images are protected by the Copyright Law and will require a Usage Fee (if you are not the hiring client). All assignments are done with a 'not to exceed' estimate submitted from the clients information and discussions. The photographs are released for use after payment received, with the materials, expenses and uses considered in the estimate. I pride myself in maintaining the clients budget requirements, by sharing expenses for travel with other clients, etc discounted fees for multiple assignments or project lists.
A complete list of Galleries and Exhibits that have presented Eric’s work is available on request. There is always an interest in clients' success by making use of his work to complete or enhance their own vision.
